BoulderOrganic.org, Boulder's Local Organic Directory

Over the summer of '07, two friends were on their way to the Boulder Farmers' Market when a small bolt of lightning hit them! This was surprising for several reasons, the first being it was an absolutely clear, gorgeous Boulder summer afternoon, another being they were both wearing shoes with rubber soles. Despite their insulation from small chains of electricity, the bolt was enough to spark an idea that would lead them down the trail of organic glory.

'We should make a website with information about everything organic in Boulder' the first friend said to the other, although she needn't have since the bolt of lightning had struck the two equally.

'Ya. That's a good idea' said friend number two.

And thus, the concept for BoulderOrganic.org was born. The two friends had many trials and tribulations ahead of them, though neither knew it at the time because they were both eating giant organic peaches fresh from the Boulder Farmers' Market, which gave them the illusion that the world was momentarily perfect and no trouble could ever befall them.

Their peacefulness was short-lived; about as short as a peach lasts on a hot, cloudless, Boulder summer day, and they realized that they would have to come up with a killer domain name for their website of Boulder Organic things.

'What about BoulderOrganic.com?' asked the first friend of the second. The first seemed to be affected by the peach slightly more than the second, but it was a lucky thing for both that they had each other to bounce ideas off of.

'Um, let's make it BoulderOrganic.org.' replied the second in a burst of clarity. The peach fuzz had worn off the second and this made him understand that this was not a commercial enterprise, making the .com part of the address misleading. They were more of an organization, an organic organization, from boulder, so the .org was a much better fit for the two.

'Good call. Let's go eat some apples.' And just like that, BoulderOrganic.org was born and the two friends have seen nothing but blue skies ever since, with never a problem in sight.

The End
